Wesley Mattson

Wes Mattson was born on October 29, 1939 at his parent's home in Laketown Township, Polk County WI to Freeman and Elizabeth (Schlemmer) Mattson. He died at home with his family on October 5, 2020. The great staff from St. Croix Hospice enabled us to care for him at home. He attend grade school at Oak Hill, and graduated from Luck High School. He served in the US Army after high school, then started working as an auto body repairman in Frederic, Grantsburg and at a shop at his home. In his later years he worked as a landscaper for several local landscape companies. He married Carol Hedlund on June 24, 1967, and their son Aaron was born in 1972. He was preceded in death by his parents and his bother Howard. He is survived by his wife, his son Aaron (Brenda), grandson's Isaac, Kyan and Alex, and granddaughter Megan, his pool playing and fishing buddies, and other friends and relatives. He had reasons to believe that his new life “on the flip side” will be 20 times better than his best day on earth. We are looking forward to seeing him again on the “flip side”. Due to Covid 19, no services will be held at this time but a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
