Wesley Dair “Wes” Alden, age 66, passed away Tuesday morning, February 25, 2014. Born in Siren, WI, on June 27, 1947, Wes was a son of the late Lesley and Charmaine (Stewart) Alden. He was a 1965 graduate of Siren High School. Wes then served in the U.S. Navy from June 30, 1965 to June 28, 1968. He was assigned to the USS Reeves (DLG24) and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal (with device). He owned Countryside Auto in Minneapolis and was a successful Auto Dealer. He was passionate about classic cars and enjoyed restoration. His business cards read "Wild Wes" from Wisconsin, recently changed to "Mild Wes" from Wisconsin - Buy, Sell, and Trade. Wes had raised wolves for many years, and he especially enjoyed riding his Harley and spending time with his grandson, Kohl D. Wes had a degree in Chemical Dependency Family Therapy and used this knowledge everyday helping and counseling those in need, often, over a cup of coffee at the table with local veterans and friends that needed someone to talk to. Surviving are daughters: Niki D. (Silas) Kettula and Stacy (Charlie) Martin; grandchildren: Kohl D. Kettula, Kyaisha D. Kettula, Gage Holmes, and Paige DeMarre; a great grandaughter Selene Olsen, brother: Bradley (Mitzi) Alden; sisters: Charlene Hahr and Vicki (John) Anderson. Nieces and Nephews; Chad (Brenda) Alden, Brian Alden, Tandy (Mark) Pinter, Tracy (Brent) Schalhamer, Tabitha (Aaron) Stutzman, Ashely (Jen) Anderson, Carmen (Kory) Anderson, Jeff Alden, Dave (Miki) Alden, Angie (Chad) Klem and Noah Alden as well as many other relatives and good friends. Wes was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, John Wesley Alden; a brother, Dennis Alden and a nephew Nathan Anderson. A memorial service for Wes Alden will be conducted on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 11:00 am (visitation 10-11) at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster, WI, with Pastor Tom Cook officiating. The service will conclude with full military honors. Interment will be in Siren Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Wes' family are preferred.
