Virginia Traurig

Virginia Lee Traurig, age 84, of Frederic, WI went to Jesus on Friday, April 9, 2021 while at home surrounded by her family.

Virginia, also known as Ginny, or Patty to close relatives, was born in Elkton, MD on October 13, 1936 to Mary Etta (Rhoades) Ash and John George Ash. She graduated from Elkton High School. Virginia married her childhood sweetheart, Robert, in 1955. They had four children and in 1971 moved the family to Saint Paul, MN. They moved to the countryside of Frederic, WI in 2015.

Virginia was a devoted Elvis fan! She enjoyed collecting Elvis music and memorabilia. She appreciated flowers, plants and birds. She spent many hours reading romance novels. More than anything, her family made her most happy.

Virginia is survived by her husband, Robert; her children, Deborah (Vaughn) Nagahashi of Altoona, WI; Ruthie (Todd) Picton of Frederic, WI; Patricia (Paul) Stehr of Forest Lake, MN; and Daniel Kevin (Jan) Traurig of Centuria, WI; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and by her sisters, Sue and Betty.

A visitation and service will be held at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, 7697 Johnson Street, Siren, WI at 10am on Friday, April 16. Interment will immediately follow at St. Dominic Catholic Cemetery in Frederic, WI. The family is respectfully requiring that all in attendance wear masks.
