Virginia Lee Erickson, age 60, of Webster, WI, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016. Virginia was born in Siren, WI, on March 5, 1956, a daughter of the late Roger E. and Mary B. (Hansen) Erickson. She attended Grantsburg public schools, and was a 1974 graduate of Grantsburg High School. Besides managing operations on the family farm, Virginia worked eighteen years at North States Industries in Siren. She appreciated being outdoors, and hunting and fishing. She was a Green Bay Packers fan, and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Virginia was a very family-oriented person, and loved spending time with her son and her grandchildren. She had a special relationship with the kids from the neighborhood, whom she called her “adopted” children. Virginia was a woman who had great resolve and inner strength that was demonstrated every day, and especially during times of hardship and adversity. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Roger Erickson; and brother-in-law, Randy Manthie. Virginia is survived by a son, Travis D. (Crystal) Erickson, Sr.; grandchildren: Summer Storm Erickson, Diamond Rose Erickson, and Travis Donald Erickson, Jr.; brothers, Donald (Bea) Erickson and Gary (Rhonda) Erickson; sisters, Edith Manthie and Linda Baum (Robert Pardun); and nieces and nephews. The memorial service honoring Virginia’s life will be conducted at 2:30 pm (visitation 1:30 to 2:30 pm), Monday, December 26, 2016, at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Webster, with Pastor Mike Kleven officiating. Following the service, relatives and friends are invited to join Virginia’s family at the Webster Community Center for food and fellowship.
