Vera Mae Holmes, 81 years young and a longtime resident of Danbury, passed away September 21st at the Nursing and Rehab home in Frederic, Wisconsin.
She was born on November 28th, 1942, the first child of Ruth and Joe Holmes. She attended school in Danbury and graduated from Webster High. She has resided in Chicago and St Paul eventually returning to Danbury. She worked at Chippewa Corners Café where she was an awesome cook and the Hole in the Wall Casino as a cashier before her retirement.
Vera is survived by her son, Kurtis, two sisters, four brothers, several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, numerous nephews, uncles, aunties and cousins.
A visitation was held on September 25th at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home with cremation following per her wishes. A private family internment will be held at a late date.
