Timothy Doffing

Timothy Lee Doffing, KE0LMX, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Sunday, December 22, 2019. The evening before, he enjoyed a festive Christmas celebration with his wife and in-laws at the family “Ponderosa” in Wisconsin. Tim was born on October 21, 1969. He was an avid Harley Davidson rider and enthusiast. He enjoyed fast rides on curvy roads with his riding friends. Tim loved all things technical and worked in IT at Abbott Laboratories. Computers, ham radios, and lock picking kept him entertained. Tim enjoyed a good book, a night on the deck with a bourbon and a cigar, his dog, Harley, at his feet and the love of his life, Kari, by his side. Tim always had time for a good conversation with a friend. He liked to debate and explore views through others’ eyes, constantly filling his mind with new ideas.
Tim was preceded in death by his grandparents, Geri Zimmerman and Ken Miller and Mathias and Ida Doffing.
Tim is survived by his wife, Kari, constant canine companion, Harley, parents Sandy and Dave Doffing, brother Dan (Lisa), niece Angela, mother- and father-in-law Jean and Jon Shutte, sister-in-law Tricia (Chris) Sterling, niece Halle, nephew Tanner, and numerous friends and family.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at First Lutheran Church, 463 Maria Ave., St. Paul, MN 55106. A reception will follow, where, just as Tim wanted, family and friends can share stories and reminisce about Tim’s 50 years. In honor of Tim, please dress casual.  In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred for a later donation in memory of Tim.
