Thomas “Tom” E. Stusek, age 69, of Siren, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at his residence. Tom was born on April 7, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois to parents Emil and Elmire (Vaudreuil) Stusek. Tom was the youngest of five children. At six months old, the family moved to the Siren and Grantsburg area. Tom attended Grantsburg School until 8th grade when the family moved to Yellow Lake in Webster. Tom graduated from Webster High School in 1964. He then went on to attend the University of Wisconsin - River Falls and later transferred to the University of Superior. Tom was united in marriage to Laurel (Simonson) on March 29, 1970 and together they moved to the Twin Cities area where Tom was employed by Ford. Not too long after, Tom and Laurel found themselves moving back to the Siren area so Tom could start a plumbing apprenticeship under his Father. He continued his education and obtained his certification as a Master Plumber at WITC in Superior. After his schooling, he established, owned and operated, Thomas Stusek Plumbing until his retirement. Preceding Tom in death are his parents; brother, John Stusek; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Rutz and Karen Tucker; brothers-in-law, Loren and David Simonson. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Laurel Stusek; sons, Blake Stusek and Damon (Vanessa) Stusek; brother, Charles (Mary) Stusek; sisters, Caron (Saul) Weinstein and MaryAnne Johnson; sisters-in-law, Margaret and Marie Simonson; brother-in-law, Richard Rutz; and many other nieces nephews, relatives, friends and man’s best friend, “Duncan”. Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, January 22 at 11:00am (visitation from 10:00am - 11:00am) at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Webster.
