Stanley “Stan” Boyd Jackson, age 82, of Webster, WI, passed away at his winter home in Silver Springs, Florida, on Friday, April 7, 2017. Born in Montley, MN, on January 26, 1935, Stan was a son of the late George and Agnes (Britton) Jackson. He was educated in the public schools in Minneapolis and received specialized training at Dunwoody Institute. On March 27, 1954, Stan married Darlene Winkelman. He was employed at Moorehead Machinery and Boiler Company in Minneapolis until his retirement in 1995. Stan and Darlene also have owned and operated South Shore Resort on Yellow Lake near Webster, WI, since 1972. Stan was a member of the Siren United Methodist Church for the past 17 years. He was also a member of the Webster Lions Club, the Burnett County Resort and Campground Association, and Boilermakers Union local 647 - Ramsey MN. Stan enjoyed fishing, and spending time doing projects in his garage, specifically welding and woodworking. He was a man who would never just sit around. He was a very industrious and talented man, and loved staying busy on the resort. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and three sisters. Stan is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Darlene; his children: Mark (Susi) Jackson, Julie (Chuck) Stammler, and Jane (Gary) Kaefer; grandchildren: Sarah (Jesse), Blair (Jessica), Grant, Garret, Morgan (Caleb), Kelsey (Randy), Hannah, Jillian, and Leah; and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Phyllis Leritz and Ellen Held; and sister-in-law, Jean Jackson. The memorial service honoring the life of Stan Jackson will be conducted at 11:00am (visitation 10:00 to 11:00am), Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Siren United Methodist Church with Pastor Tom Cook officiating. A fellowship luncheon will be provided after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) or Children’s Hospitals of Minnesota (www.childrensmn.org) are appreciated.
