Sonni Lundeen

May 20, 1981 — October 13, 2021

Sonni Rai (Chute) Lundeen, age 40, died of complications related to COVID at Burnett Medical Center, Grantsburg, WI on October 13, 2021.

Sonni was born at St. Croix Valley Memorial Hospital in St. Croix Falls, WI on May 20, 1981 to Lisa Lundeen and Vaughn Chute. She grew up in the country outside of Frederic and Grantsburg. She attended Grace Nursery School in Grantsburg, grade school and middle school in Frederic. Sonni home-schooled for a while before moving to Grantsburg to live with her grandma, Rose Chute where she attended and graduated from Grantsburg High School.

Motherhood, with the arrivals of Megan in November 2005 (Frank Bucsko) and Scarlett in October 2018 (Matthew Friese) brought great joy and new focus to Sonni’s life. When Megan was small, the family lived in Amery before moving to Texas, where Sonni was the manager of Domino’s Pizza. Sonni and Megan moved back to Wisconsin where they lived in Luck and then Frederic where Sonni opened her Nurturing Hands Massage office.

Many describe Sonni as a light, always full of life and energy and spark. She was feisty and sassy and really took advantage of every minute she had. She gave her all to her daughters, loving them beyond measure. She had many friends and family in the area that she cared about, whether it was having the kids play together, or promoting each other’s businesses and supporting each other through life, she was there for those she cared about.

Sonni was preceded in death by her grandmother, Rose Chute.

She is survived by her daughters, Megan and Scarlett Lundeen; parents, Lisa (Tony) Lundeen-Brooks and Vaughn Chute; siblings, nieces and nephews, Cacey (Nate) Stini, Traci (Ben) and Carl Hustedt, Seneca (Shabana) and Millee and Laith Lundeen Abeni (Nels Potvin) Lundeen Potvin, Chelsey (Carson) Christian; grandparents, Walter (Sonny) and Margaret Lundeen; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.

A private service for the immediate family is planned.

Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster. Online condolences can be made at www.swedberg-taylor.com
