Shirlie Bump

Shirlie Anne Bump, age 86, a resident of St. Croix Falls passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Divine Nursing & Rehab.
Shirlie was born in St. Paul, Minnesota to Edward and Eleanor (Kotefka) Wegleitner on July 22, 1937.
Shirlie was well versed in short hand and was recruited out of high school for secretarial work. She and Harry Bump were married on Saturday, October 8, 1955 at Maternity of Mary Catholic Church in St. Paul, Minnesota.
She then raised her 4 beloved children and enjoyed her German Schrauzers. She had multiple Blue Ribbons from the Dunn County Fair for canning and baking. She purchased the Indianhead Motel in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin in May of 1975 which she ran for 17 years until she retired with her husband to Webster. While spending winters in Earp, California her favorite past times were watching sports, she was an avid Vikings and Twins fan and thoroughly enjoyed watching Nascar and Formula One. She touched the hearts of all who met her and will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Eleanor; her husband, Harry and cherished son, Jeffrey Bump.
She will always be remembered by her children, Robyn Becthold, Joel (Paula) Bump and Jason (Geni) Bump; sister, Janet Mulheran and brother, Jim Wegleitner; 8 grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
