Sheila Block

Sheila Rose (Rein) Block, longtime resident of Minong, WI, passed away at her home on November 7 after a long battle with cancer. She was born at home in Glidden, WI on November 9, 1938, the daughter of Lawrence (Charlie) Rein and Isla (Hanson)Rein.

Sheila was united in marriage to Harold (Buck) Block on May 25, 1957. They lived in Two Harbors, MN before making Minong their lifelong home. They celebrated 63 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2021.

Sheila worked for Vacationland Realty for many years. She enjoyed being with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and their many sporting events. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she loved preparing for it. She enjoyed many fun times at dinners and travels with her many friends. She treasured her many pets that she had over the years.

Sheila is survived by three children, Micki (Chuck) DeMar, Jim (Beth) Block, and Larry Block; former daughter-in-law, Georgie Oleson; nine grandchildren, Michael (Michelle) DeMar, Jennifer DeMar, Alicia Block, Amber Block, Annie (Mike) Block-Meyer, Nicole Block, Morgan Block, Kacey Block, and Connor Block; great granddaughter, Adrianna DeMar; sister, Carol (Larry) Rasmussen, stepbrother, Jerry (Gale) Larson; brother-in-laws, Lee (Pat) Block, Jim (Nancy) Block and sister-in-law, Cheryl (Mark) Smith; aunt, Marge Smith; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Wascott Town Hall.
