Sharon Radford

March 17, 1935 — February 25, 2024

Sharon D. Radford, age 88, a resident of Rice Lake passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024.

Sharon was born in St. Ignace, Michigan to August and Marie Burgeson. She met and married James Mullins and moved to Dyer, Indiana where they had seven children. After several years, she married Eugene Radford and settled in Merrillville, Indiana. And finally, after Gene’s death, Sharon made the move to Northwest Wisconsin where she continued to enjoy new friends and family activities.

Sharon had a passion for reading, movies, music and dancing. She enjoyed traveling to spend time with her dear sister, Marsha. In later years one of her favorite activities was sitting on her daughter’s deck watching the Namekagon River float by. She loved her church and was an active member of St. Joseph’s and the Joan of Arc Catholic Churches.

When she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, she became a strong, determined and brave warrior facing the disease head on with grace and humor.

Sharon was preceded in death by husbands, James Mullins and Eugene Radford; sons, Dennis, Thomas and John Mullins; her parents, August and Marie; sister, Marsha Coveyou; son in laws, Blake Thompson, Dean Eaton, and Michael Wielichowski; mother in law, Edna Rudman.

She leaves behind her children, Therese (John) Canfield, Anne Wielichowski, Susan Eaton, and James “Andy” (Mila) Mullins; daughter in law, Chris Mullins; stepchildren, Paul Radford, Anita (Don) Ryan and Marianne Kempa; 18 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; along with other relatives and dear friends.

A family service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster. Online condolences can be made at www.swedberg-taylor.com.
