Russell K. Brenizer, age 78, of Grantsburg, WI, passed away unexpectedly, October 3, 2014. He was born in Grantsburg on September 11, 1936 to the late Earl and Mable (Leggett) Brenizer, Sr. Russell served in the U.S. Army from Sep. 4, 1959 to Aug. 27, 1963, primarily assigned to the 580th Engineering Co. He enjoyed hobby farming, gardening, deer hunting, and spending time with his family and friends. He was very giving of his time and his help to whoever needed it. Russell is survived by a daughter, Cindy (Mark) Doiron, St Croix Falls; grandchildren: Kyle (Kristi) Van Erp, Ucon ID; Natasha Helbig, St Croix Falls; Michael Doiron and Cameron Doiron, St Croix Falls; great granddaughter, Evelyn Van Erp; brothers: Donald Brenizer, Grantsburg; Leroy (Phyllis) Brenizer, Frederic; Charles (Sandra) Brenizer, Loveland CO; Delroy (Linda) Brenizer, Dinwiddie, VA; Richard Brenizer, Webster; and Dale (Linda) Brenizer, Amarillo TX; sisters: Kathleen (Donald) Wistrom, Siren; and Shirley Baker, Grantsburg; sister-in-law, Sandy (the late Earl Brenizer Jr.); many nieces, nephews, other family and friends; and his extended family, the Swansons. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Michael; brothers: Robert, Luverne, Earl, Jr., and William; sisters: Darlene Welsh and Violet Fossum. Graveside service with full military honors for Russell Brenizer will be held at 12:00 pm (Noon) on Friday October 10, 2014, at Wolf Creek Cemetery, on County Rd G, in Sterling Twp, Polk County, WI. Rev. Tony Minell, pastor of New Life Christian Community, Dresser, WI, will officiate. A fellowship lunch will follow at the farm.
