Roland Boucher

Roland Charles “Ron” Boucher, Loving Husband - Father - Grandpa, passed away peacefully in his home in rural Grantsburg (Anderson Twp.), WI, on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at the age of 78 years. Roland was born in East Farmington, Polk Co., WI, on April 9, 1937, a son of the late Norval and Edith (Campbell) Boucher. He graduated from Osceola High School in 1955. On June 12, 1970, Roland married Grace E. Beery in Watertown, South Dakota. They lived in Stillwater for many years before moving to Anderson Twp. He was employed thirty years with George W. Olsen Construction Co. in Stillwater, MN, and belonged to the International Union of Operating Engineers local 49. Roland was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Grantsburg, and was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, attending Council 6370 - Fr. Phillip Gordon Council, in Frederic, WI. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, cutting wood, and riding his ATV as he towed a special wagon full of area children. Roland was a charismatic person. He had an infectious laugh, and he was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was definitely a hard working man who would never procrastinate. He, in turn, had his well earned moments of fun and relaxation. Preceding him in death are his parents, Norval and Edith Boucher; brothers, Ralph and Duane; and sister, Florence. Roland is survived by Grace, his loving wife of 45 years; and 6 children: Terrance (Jerri) Boucher, Donald (Marie) Boucher, Clarice Yassick, Kay (Rick) Heide, Joy (Jim) Roth, and Alan (Ann) Boucher. He has 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial for Roland Boucher will be celebrated at 11:00 am (visitation 9:00 to 11:00 am), Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Grantsburg, WI, with Father Tom Thakadipuram officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Grantsburg, WI. Arrangements have been entrusted with Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Grantsburg, WI.
