Rocky Brust

Rocky Harold Brust, age 64, a resident of Grantsburg, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at the Burnett Medical Center.

Rocky was born on May 11, 1957 in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin to parents; Harold and Margaret (Anderson) Brust.

Rocky graduated from St. Croix Falls High School in 1975.

Rocky married the love of his life Cheryl Syring on February 24, 1984 at Polk County Government Center in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin.

Rocky worked as a truck driver for Trap Rock Concrete in his younger years. He worked at Parker in Grantsburg as a machinist for 32 years till his retirement.

Rocky loved his hobby farm where he raised beef cattle, horses, and chickens. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and snowmobiling. He was also known for making potato sausage, and sauerkraut every fall.

Rocky was a skilled handyman and could fix anything that came his way. He had a sharp wit, outrageous sense of humor, and a goofy personality. His family and grandchildren were the most important things in his life.

Rocky was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Ricky; and brother, Scott.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Cheryl; children, Justin Brust, Jason (Ashley) Brust, Jenna (Ben) Krieglmeier; grandchildren, Gage, Evelyn, Finn, And Oliver; along with many other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 2:00 PM (visitation 1:00 – 2:00 PM) at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Grantsburg. Interment will follow at Wolf Creek Cemetery in Sterling Township, Polk County, Wisconsin.
