Robin Lee Carroll

Robin passed away at home one day before is 76th birthday surrounded by his loving family.
Robin was born to his father Earl Leroy Carroll and his mother Lillian Mae Sheppard (Mae). He was their only son. Earl is currently 97 years old living in Coer D’Laine, Idaho. Mae was 93 when she passed away.
In his early childhood years, he lived in the Minneapolis area and Golden Valley neighborhood. In his early teen years, they moved to Champlin, MN on the Mississippi River where his love of boating, fishing and water skiing began. He attended Fred Moore Jr. High and graduated from Anoka Sr. High in 1963. He loved sports and played hockey, and in those days, they wore leather helmets. He earned his letter in wrestling. After graduation he attended the U of M and worked at Northrup King. He then went on to work for the Cornelius Company. An international beverage dispensing company as a certified quality & packaging engineer. He worked there 35 years. He also worked for a short time at Plastic Products in Lindstrom, MN and did some consulting work at Taprite in Texas.
In 1967 he met Linda Peterson on a blind date. It didn’t take long before they became inseparable. They became engaged at Como Park where they had gone on several dates. They were married on September 6th, 1968. They enjoyed their 53 anniversary this September. Over the next seven years they became proud parents of 4 sons: Brian, Jason (Charlie), Peter and Chris. They also had a daughter who was still born they named Trina.
Robin loved to travel and spent several winters as a snowbird in Alabama and Florida as well as Cancun, Mexico. Robin loved sports of all kinds. For many years he raced motorcycles, enjoyed hill climbing and cross-country racing. He took pride in winning many trophies. Hunting deer and duck hunting with his cousin Ted Sheppard and later on with his 2 older sons. It became an annual event. Robin also enjoyed Camping with his family and friends during the summer, golfing on company leagues, snow skiing taking Linda down hills she wasn’t too keen about, but she survived and found mogel hills were her favorites.
As the boys were old enough to play hockey, they all played traveling hockey for the Anoka Area Hockey Association. Robin eventually became the president of the association which was the largest Hockey Association in the country. He coached, we managed and were in charge of fundraising. He was also a PTA president and president of the National Safe Transit Association (NSTA), and a board member at Yellow Lake Lutheran Church.
His best job was being a loving husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather of Madison, Cacie, Alex, Aarron, Emily and Lauren.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 1:00 pm (visitation from 11:30 – 1:00 pm) at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster.
