Robert Erickson

Robert J. (Bob) Erickson, age 86 of Coon Rapids, MN passed away on January 10th, 2022.

Bob was born on December 2, 1935 in Anoka, MN to Ben and Helen Erickson. He graduated from the University of Minnesota and Anoka High School.

Bob loved his cabin (Bob’s True Story) and enjoyed many sun-filled days boating and fishing on Lake Edward with his family and friends. Many great memories were made with his cabin neighbors as he rode his golf cart around with a cooler and cigar. He was a fisherman and hunter and told the best stories by the fire. His drink of choice was a Windsor Coke although he learned to enjoy his “cinnamon” (Fireball) in the last few years of his life. He enjoyed happy hour with a drink and a cigar and a bloody beer while watching the sun come up over the lake. He was amazing at 6-5-4 and even learned to enjoy the Corn Hole bag toss.

Bob was sharp and knew exactly what he wanted even until the day he passed. He was good at being the “supervisor” whether it be at the cabin, or at Homestead. He was ready to go home, and he shared his plan with those he loved most. He was an amazing man and fun to be around.

We will miss you terribly but feel a sense of peace and comfort knowing that you have joined the love of your life, in heaven, “Bev” (married 56 years) and special dog, Lovey; brothers, Dick and Bill; nephews, Steve and Chris; dear friend “Doc” and your parents, Helen and Ben plus so many others that have gone before and who are embracing you now. We love you, watch over us.

He will be deeply missed by his children, Scott (Clare), Rick (Carol), and Robin; his grandchildren, Matthew (Kerensa), Michael (Annika), Ryan (Fiancé Hunter), Alisha (Ned), Ashley (Tyler), and Brittney; brother, Jim (Carole); sister-in-laws, Barb and Kathy; and his neighbor, Helen and so many other friends and family.


Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, January 18th, 2022 at The Church of St. Stephen, 525 Jackson St. Anoka, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery. For all who would like to gather, a light lunch will be served at: 4352 87th Lane NE in Circle Pines, MN.
