Richard "Dick" C. Berg, age 86, a resident of Webster passed away on February 25, 2024. Dick was born on January 26, 1938 in Minneapolis, MN to parents Carl and Irma (Wickstrom) Berg.
Dick graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1956. He then attended the University of Minnesota for general courses and furthered his education at Dunwoody Institute graduating in 1960 in Mechanical Drafting.
Dick served in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged.
Dick married his wife, Patricia Heiberg, on May 16, 1975 in Minneapolis, MN.
Dick was employed at Honeywell Aero Division for 3 years, designing the attitude set for the Apollo Capsule, Collins Radio in Iowa, and Control Data. Afterwards, Dick worked for 3M Company for 33 years before retiring with 6 patents under his name.
Dick was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad and was a firearm enthusiast and cherished taking his grandkids to target practice. Dick was a loving father, husband, and a good friend that was always willing to help someone move or work on their car.
Dick was an avid member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the NRA.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and son-in-law, Scott Preston.
Dick will be forever missed by his loving wife of 48 years, Patricia Berg; daughter, Jylaine (Dan) Fox; stepdaughters, Melissa Preston and Becky (Dan) Brant; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Carole Pearson; 2 nephews; along with other relatives and many friends.
A private family service will be held.
