Penny Eckland

Penny Lea Eckland, age 61, a resident of Webster, WI., passed away on March 2, 2024 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN.

Penny was born on April 30, 1962 in St. Croix Falls, WI to parents Kenneth and Arlene (Bishop) Peterson. Penny graduated from Albert Lea in 1980.

Penny married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Eckland on June 19, 2010, in River Falls, WI.

In Penny's free time she enjoyed baking, gardening and just spending time in the great outdoors. Penny also was an active member of the Backpack Program.

Penny is preceded in death by her parents, Arlene and Kenneth (Kenny) Peterson.

She is survived by her loving husband Robert; stepchildren, Anna (Tyler) Anderson, Hattie Eckland, Tim (Rachele) Eckland; grandchildren, Keira, Collin, Hunter, Maverick, Beckett and Kolton; sister, Carla (Randy) Leegaard; nieces, Sarah (Jared) Oppelt and Becky (Cory) Frerk; great nieces and nephews, Adrian, Aubrey, Ayla, Asher; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins; along with many friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster. The memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 10:00 AM (visitation 9-10 AM) at Grace United Methodist Church, Webster. Interment will be at 1:00 PM at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
