Paul Jon Berg, age 46, of Webster, passed away Friday, October 10, 2014, as a result of a multiple motor vehicle accident. Paul was born in Chicago, Illinois, on September 9, 1968, son of the late William Leroy and Mary Kathryn (Walters) Berg. He attended public schools in Glen Ellyn, IL, and Webster, WI, graduating in 1986 from Webster High School. He had been formerly employed by the St. Croix Tribal Center in Hertel, helping in construction projects, performing plumbing and building maintenance, and was an engine and equipment mechanic. He was a past member of the Webster Volunteer Fire Department. Paul’s passion was restoring hot rods and classic automobiles at the Player Motorsports (Last Minute Rod Shop) in Webster. He also enjoyed track racing specifically driving modified and super-modified cars. Paul absolutely loved and enjoyed his children. He was an extraordinary dad. His kids thought the world of him. Survivors include children: Alyssa Damewood, Mark Stoner, Kassidy Benjamin, and Jacob Berg; brothers: Jerry Capps, Larry Capps, and Gary Capps; sister, Deann Dufour; his dog, Rex; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. The funeral service for Paul Berg will be conducted at 2:00 pm (visitation 1:00 to 2:00 pm), on Friday, October 17, 2014, at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Webster. Private burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. A time of fellowship and food is planned at Webster Community Center. Pallbearers are: Don Broome, Barry Heyer, Mark Stoner Jr., Brad Reinhardt, Bruce Tourville, Keith Tourville, Lonny Damewood and Kelly Davis.
