Pamela Scapanski

December 20, 1955 — January 7, 2017

Pamela Rae Scapanski, age 61, of Woodbury, MN, previously of Grantsburg, WI, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, cousin and friend, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on Saturday, January 7, 2017. Pamela was born on December 20, 1955 to parents, Darlene (Ball) and Claire Erickson. She graduated from Grantsburg High School in 1974. She attended St. Mary's University for Nursing and graduated in 1977. After she married they moved to Hudson WI and had a daughter in 1984. Pamela loved working as a nurse in Hudson, WI where she met many lifelong friends. In 1988, she moved to Woodbury, MN and finished her 35 year nursing career at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN where she found an amazing support system and extended family. Pam’s joy in life, other than her daughter and granddaughters, was helping others. She was an avid volunteer at Woodbury Lutheran Church and in her community. Even though she was ill for many years, she found joy in helping others in need, thrift shopping, socializing and could always be found with her trusty pooch, Seri. Pam is survived by her daughter, Katie (Justin) Peltier of New Richmond, WI; 2 lights of her life, her granddaughters, Brooklynn (4) and Evelynn (2); mother, Darlene Erickson of Grantsburg, WI; sister, Suzy (Maurice) Johnson of Grantsburg; brother, Ron (Janet) of Luck; beloved pup, Seri; and many trusted friends. Preceding Pam in death is her father, Claire Erickson; brother, Steve Erickson; father and mother-in-law, Norbert and Eleanor Scapanski; former husband, Ronald Scapanski; and dear friends, Mary Lou DeBerardini and Ginny Evans. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 3:00pm (visitation from 2:00pm-3:00pm) at the Faith Lutheran Church in Grantsburg, WI with Pastor Sandy Hutchens officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at the Riverside Cemetery in Grantsburg, WI.
