Orland Luedtke

Orland Francis Luedtke of Grantsburg, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday August 27, 2013 at the age of 77 in Grantsburg, Wisconsin. He was born on February 25th, 1936 to Beatrice and Bertrum Luedtke. Orland grew up in the Grantsburg area with 4 siblings. On September 16th, 1961 he married Luella Johnson. They have lived in the Grantsburg area for over 50 years. Orlie served two years in the United States Army, was a barber, worked for the Grantsburg School district and spent 30 years working for the WI Department of Natural Resources. Orlie enjoyed the outdoors; farming and visiting with friends & relatives. He operated heavy equipment for the DNR and was most at home on the seat of a tractor. In his retirement years he enjoyed tending to his gardens. Orlie is preceded in death by his parents Bertrum and Beatrice Luedtke; his daughter Valentina Hinrichs and wife Luella. He will be dearly missed by his children, Brett (Lisa), Tamara (Bruce) Chapman, Brenda (Luke) Java, Bart (Debbie), Brad (Carmen), and Brent (Melanie); his 15 grandchildren, James Hinrichs, Brian (Holly) Hinrichs, Joshua (Maren) Luedtke, Daniel Chapman, Jessica (Nick) Hackworthy, Sarah Chapman, Alisha Java, Timothy Luedtke, Melissa Chapman, Kayla Java, Bert Luedtke, Rebecca Luedtke, Brittany Luedtke, Kajsa Luedtke, and Claira Luedtke; five great grandchildren; two sisters Dianne (Richard) Strom; Darlene (Mark) Wicks and brothers Armand Luedtke, Dean (Karen) Luedtke and son-in-law Thomas Hinrichs. His smile and generosity will be greatly missed. A Mass will be held on Friday August 30, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Grantsburg at 1pm.
