Olive Melton

Olive Marie Melton, age 88, of Spooner, WI passed away on August 11, 2010 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth, MN. Olive was born on April 16, 1922 in Spooner, WI to Henry H. and Mary E. Roberts. She attended school in Spooner and was a graduate of the class of 1941. She married Bion Melton on June 1st, 1944 in Pine City, MN and together they raised eight children. Olive enjoyed her vegetable and flower gardens. She loved cooking and canning for her big family. She also liked to go camping and especially treasured spending time with family. Olive was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Roger L. and Darrell C. Melton and sisters Mary Berglund and Helen Tomesh. She is survived by her husband Bion of Spooner; children, Larry (Diana) Melton of Spooner, Judith (Louis) Snowbank of Barronett, Sharon (John) Schultz of Shell Lake, Delray (Lori) Melton of Spooner, Bradley (JoAnne) Melton of Shell Lake and Renee (Bob) Klobertanz of Spooner; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Hank (Pat) Johnson of Spooner; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2010 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Scalzo-Taylor Family Funeral Home in Spooner. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM (visitation 10:00-11:00 AM)at the funeral home with Pastor Brent Berkesch officiating. Music will be provided by Haylee Hershey. Interment will follow at the Spooner Cemetery. Casketbearers are Tony Melton, Douglas Schultz, Chad Snowbank, Brandon Melton, Troy Davies, Aric Klobertanz, Justin Klobertanz, Dillion Melton and Larry Melton.
