Neil (Edwin) Cermak, age 83, of Webster, passed away on October 22, 2015, at his residence. Neil was born in Haley, North Dakota, to parents, Louis and Mary (Bren) Cermak on November 22, 1931. Neil attended school in Webster and graduated in 1950. He then went on to attend the University of Madison for two years. Shortly after, he enlisted in the army and proudly served in the Korean War. After returning home, Neil married Gayle on September 29, 1956 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Webster. The family then moved back to Minnesota, living in Minneapolis, Moorhead and Burnsville. Neil and Gayle then moved to Danbury, settling on Ham Lake, after Neil retired in 1984 after 30 years at John Deere. Neil loved many things in life, but very much enjoyed living on the lake with Gayle, being outdoors and attending to the garden. Above all else, Neil loved spending time with his family. Neil will always be remembered as a loving husband, devoted dad, and being the best grandpa to his grandkids. Neil is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Gayle Cermak; two brothers; and three sisters. Neil is survived by his children: Randy (Veryl) Cermak and Rhonda (William) Good; grandchildren: Cassie (Ben) Huninghake, Nicole (Joel) Schmit, Danielle Good, and Andrea Good; great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Jameson; and sister, Dorothie Shutt. Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at 11:00am (visitation 10-11am) at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Webster.
