Michael James Whiteside Sr., age 71, a resident of Siren, WI passed away at home with his loved ones by his side.
Michael was the oldest son of Melvin and Dona Whiteside. He was born August 29th 1950, in Cedar Falls, Iowa. At the age of 10 his family moved to Webster, WI where they owned and operated Stonegate Resort on Devils Lake. Mike graduated from Webster High School in 1969. After high school he enlisted in the Army. He served in Germany and Turkey. Mike married Dawn Thomas in 1975. They had 2 children, Stephanie and Mike Jr. In 1999 he met Jennifer Bird. They have been life partners ever since.
Mike loved life and enjoyed many hobbies including hunting, fishing, trapping, harvesting wild rice, maple syruping, flying and trap shooting. Mike and Jennifer traveled to the Caribbean, Mexico, Italy and within the USA.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Dona; brother, Doug; and sister, Cindy.
He leaves behind his children, Stephanie Crawford husband Hank and Mike Whiteside Jr wife Mary; his significant other, Jennifer Bird; his grandchildren, Casidy, Kennedy and Will Mehsikomer. Along with other relatives and many friends.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, 8-23-22 at 11am. Visitation at 10:30 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Webster, WI with Pastor Steve Ward officiating.
