Maxine Lindquist, age 78, a resident of Siren, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021 at the Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater, Minnesota.
Maxine was born on the family farm on August 6, 1942 in Siren, Wisconsin to William and Esther Burnikel.
Maxine married the love of her life Leslie Lindquist on June 15, 1963 in Siren, Wisconsin.
Maxine attended Siren school from 1948 to 1961. After graduating high school, she worked for May’s Beauty Shop in Siren. She also worked at the Drug Store, Doerr Electric for 11 years and Diversified Services for 11 years and she retired in 2004. After retiring Maxine enjoyed being at home spending her time with her husband, family, and friends. You could always count on seeing Maxine at any event her grandchildren were part of. She was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Siren, where she spent many hours managing the kitchen and also enjoyed being part of the quilting group.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law Gen (Fred) Shosted; brother-in-law, Cleo Sandberg and Roger Dykes
Maxine is survived by her loving husband, Leslie; children, Tonja (John) Johnson, Kent (Jenelle) Lindquist, Kyle (Val) Lindquist; grandchildren, William and Benjamin Johnson, Max and Ellyn Lindquist, Isaiah and Kylee Lindquist; sister Ardyce Sandberg, sister-in-law Judy (Mitch) Larson, and sister-in-law Nancy Dykes, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Swedberg-Taylor in Siren, Wisconsin. Prayer service will take place at 6:30 PM.
The memorial service will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 11:00 AM (visitation 10:00-11:00 AM) at Bethany Lutheran Church in Siren, Wisconsin with Pastor Emily Stelling officiation. There will be a luncheon following the service at the church.
