Maurice Bloms

Maurice "Maury" Bloms, age 86, of Trego, passed away at his home on July 3, 2010. Maury was born on November 21, 1923 to Leo and Katherine Bloms in Farming, MN. Maury married Patricia Rausch on Septmeber 4, 1947 in Farming, MN. Together they raised four beautiful children. They moved to Spooner in 1981. Maury's hobbies included woodworking, reading, and playing cards. He loved music and played the guitar. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Maury was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Patricia and brothers, Ervin and Edwin. He is survived by his children James (Gwen Martin) Bloms of Cameron, WI, Mary (Ron) Nickell of Springfield, IL, John (Wadene) Bloms of Pueblo, CO and Ann (Scott) Korthof of Spooner, WI; grandchildren Nikki, Eric, Emily, Katy, Molly, Rita, Rachael, Amanda, Christie, Christopher, Kyle and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Logan and Alexander; sister, Janet Hanauer and many other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial was held on July 7, 2010 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Spooner, WI with Fr. Ed Anderson as the celebrant. Music was provided by St. Francis de Sales Choir and Sr. Dominica Effertz. Interment followed at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Farming, MN. Casketbearers were Scott Korthof, Ron Nickell, Mike Rand, Jerry Swonger, Eric Bloms, and Ryan Bloms. Scalzo-Taylor Family Funeral Home in Spooner was entrusted with the arrangements.
