Maryann “Mijiikwewish” Morrison, age 74, a resident of Webster, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at the Mayo Clinic in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Maryann was born on October 7, 1946 in Hayward, Wisconsin to Lawrence and Angeline Taylor.
She graduated from Siren High School. She also attended the LCO Community College and earned her degree in Liberal Arts. Maryann worked at the St. Croix Tribal Center as the Elder Advocate Director. She was also part of the Great Lakes Native American Association.
In Maryann’s free time she loved to go bowling, but her favorite thing to do was spend time with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. One of her favorite past times was playing bingo. Maryann was also known for her love of bread.
Maryann is preceded in death by her sister, Victoria Johnson; grandson, Nathon Bauer Sr.; nephew, Jonas Bearheart.
She is survived by son, Vernon Morrison; daughters, Vannesa Morrison, Christine Morrison; Leslie (Jake Didier) Billy, Lisa Burkhardt; grandchildren, Breanna Barr, William Barr 3rd, Vincent Barr, Devon Barr-Morrison, Nathon Bauer Jr., Haley Burkhardt, Casey Burkhardt, Coen Burkhardt, Jacob Weaver; brother, Daniel Taylor; aunt, Beverly Oustigoff; nephews, Jeromy Lambert, Zachary Howard; nieces, Beyonca Lambert, Sabrina Howard; and many relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Hertel Tribal Center in Webster, Wisconsin with Lee Staples officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday, May 28, 2021 at the Hertel Tribal Center, Webster at 6:00 PM. Interment will follow service at the Sand Lake Cemetery in LaFollette township. Pallbearers will be Jeromy Lambert, Zachary Howard, Mitchell LaSarge, Jacob Weaver, Vincent Barr, and Ryan Decorah. Honorary pallbearers are William Barr, Kyle Bauer, Casey Burkhardt, Coen Burkhardt, Danny Taylor, and Alvin Oustigoff.
