Mary K. Yambrick, passed away peacefully, at the age of 65, on Sunday, June 25, 2017. She was surrounded by friends and family after a courageous battle with cancer. Mary was born on May 18, 1952 in Saint Paul, MN. She graduated from Mechanic Arts High School in 1970 and went on to earn a degree in child development from Lakewood College. Growing up, her Christian faith matured in the Catholic Church, with the influence of her grandma, Katheryn Garske. In her later years, she was a devoted member of the Siren United Methodist Church and its youth ministries. Her passion for children and their human rights, is what motivated her to pursue her degree and future career as a preschool teacher. She was one of the founders of Kinder Haus and the Moms for Kids organization. She also was a secretary and office manager for the family business, Church Page Ministries. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed gardening, baking, and spending time with her friends and family. Preceding Mary in death are her parents, Mary Ellen Spickerman and Paul Davy; sisters, Pearl Spickerman, Laura Davy, and Linda Roppe; and daughter, Joyel Yambrick. Mary is survived by husband, William; children: Alex, Paul, and Whitney; siblings, Terri Zurn (Jackie Zurn), Helen Hulet (Kenny), Greg Spickerman, Lucy Able (Andrew), Joe Spickerman (Kay), and Bernie Arnt; family friends: Gail and Steve Ward, Gordy Chelmo, Laura Coyour, and Jeannie Taczala; and many other dear friends and family members. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 28 from 4-7:00pm at the Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Siren, WI. The Funeral Services for Mary Yambrick, will be held Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 11:00 AM (visitation from 10-11:00am) at the Siren United Methodist Church with both Pastors Eddie Crise and Steve Ward officiating. Following the service, will be the internment at Mud Hen Lake Cemetery. Pallbearers are Gordon Chelmo, Joe Spickerman, Herbie Ballis, Dave McConnell, Laura Coyour and Jeanee Taczala. The family expresses their gratitude to Lakeview Medical Center Hospice.
