Mary Davis

Mary E. Davis, age 74, of Danbury, WI, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014, at Burnett Medical Center. She was born in Grantsburg, WI, on August 7, 1940, a daughter of the late John W. M. and Pearl V. (McKee) Smiley. On November 5, 1958, Mary was united in marriage to Gerald L. Davis in Pine County, MN. He passed away on June 10, 1998. A selfless person, Mary appreciated the opportunity to help others, and was a personal care giver for many years to people in the area. Before her retirement, she also worked at the St. Croix Lodge in Danbury. Mary is survived by two sons: Gerald (Kellie) Davis and Robert (Joy) Davis; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, John (Gladys) Smiley. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gerald; sisters: Betty Ann Pelton Soens, Dorothy Mae Terzini, Nell Rozen, and Ruth Frizzell; brothers: Herbert, Douglas, Willis “Toby”, Earl, Carl, and Robert Smiley; a sibling in infancy, Bobbi Jo; a granddaughter; and many in-laws and other relatives. In keeping with Mary’s wishes, there will be no formal services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Webster, WI.
