Marjorie Marie Allen, 86, went to be with the Lord on January 17 th after a long journey with Alzheimer’s disease. In addition to her family, Marie was cared for by the loving staff at the Continuing Care Center in Grantsburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill”, her parents, Cecil and Mildred Bailey, her six brothers, and four sisters. She leaves to celebrate her memory her three daughters; Patricia (Ben) Maldonado, Priscilla (Dennis) Thoreson, Nancy (Rox) Bartman, sisters Margel Anderson and Eileen Carlson, brother Paul Bailey, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Marie will always be remembered for her devotion to her family, for the difference she made in the lives of many children throughout her lengthy teaching career, for her special love of gardening and jigsaw puzzles, and for her appreciation of the outdoors. She loved fishing for bass on her lake and taking long walks through the woods while solving the problems of the world with family or friends always with a special dog at her side. Marie always showed a strong will in practicing and exemplifying a good sense of values. She was always an advocate for those in need and chose to be optimistic in all she did in her life. Her independent spirit and open mindedness will be greatly missed. As she requested, a private family gathering will be held to honor and celebrate her life.
