Marilyn Mae Nelson, age 84, a resident of Cushing passed away on January 16, 2021 at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Marilyn was born in Creston, Iowa on April 26, 1936 to John and Doloris (Knafla) Nelson.
Marilyn married the love of her life, Richard Nelson, on August 12, 1955 in St. Paul, Minnesota
In Marilyn’s free time, she loved watching and listen to the birds sing, she like to garden and watch all her beautiful flowers blossom. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, and a good game of cribbage. Marilyn loved the outdoors especially fishing, camping, and canoeing with her loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant grandson, Joshua; sister, Melisande, LaDena.
Marilyn is survived by her loving husband, Richard; children, Valerie (John) Okeneski, Vanessa (John) Schoen, Quintin (Laura) Nelson; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; brothers, John Derauf, Wesley (Andrea) Derauf; sisters, Gayle Braun, Loreen Fread; and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM (visitation 1-2pm) at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home Grantsburg, Wisconsin. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Eureka Township.
