Marie Beecroft would like to let you know that her work and time on earth is done. She received a call on her birthday, August 13, 2019 to return home. She has a new address in glory. Marie was the daughter of Oscar and Marie Evelyn Gross born in Waukegan, IL. Marie spent most of her childhood years with her parents and five siblings on a farm north of Cumberland, WI. She is preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings: Donald, Doris, Jean, William, and Raymond. On June 2, 1948, Marie was married to Clarence Beecroft and they resided in Indian Creek. To this union were born five children: Linda (Harry) Buckwalter, Gary (Donna) Beecroft, Marlene (Mark) Beecroft Ziebarth, Roger (Sandi) Beecroft and David (Shirley) Beecroft. Marie’s husband Clarence, son Roger and brother-in-law, Gene Beecroft all preceded her in death. Marie leaves behind a family that she loved and was very proud of. She was known for her kindness and caring attitude. Marie loved to cook and bake. Her kitchen was always the essence of wonderful aromas because something was always baking. It was also a social hub of activity, conversation, and sometimes heated debates always laced with laughter. Our home was filled with friends and family. Marie had many hobbies, sewing, knitting, quilting, gardening, and reading. Marie loved dogs and raised Pugs, Boxers, Scotties and Pekinese. For many years she wrote the neighborhood news called Friendly Corners for the Cumberland Advocate and the Inter-County Leader. She served as both the treasurer and clerk for the township of Lorain. Marie was also the Fire Warden for almost 30 years. She was a Weight Watcher lecturer and eventually launched her own company called the Weight Factor. Marie was a faithful member of the Shell Lake Full Gospel church. She is survived by her brother-in law, William Beecroft; sisters-in-law, Dorothea Beecroft, Bonnie (Gene) Beecroft, Bernice (Raymond) Gross. She leaves behind ten grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. We would like to thank all the people who took the time to stop and visit Mom. And the exceptional attention and care that she received from her niece Mary Jean Jergenson. A Homecoming Service is planned for Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 2:00pm at the Skonewood Christian Retreat in Cushing, WI. The Glory Train Gospel Group will be performing a concert in Mom’s memory. Interment will be at the McKinley Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Webster, Wisconsin. Online condolences may be expressed at www.swedberg-taylor.com
