Margaret “Maggie” A. (Johnson-Mills) Leverty, age 80, of Siren, WI, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016. Margaret was born in Knapp, WI, on October 12, 1936 to Victor and Eva (Burton) Johnson. She was the next to youngest of ten children - 5 boys and 5 girls. She attended rural, one room elementary schools, and graduated from High School at Glenwood City, WI, in 1955. After graduation, Maggie married Don Mills, and raised 4 children. They later divorced, in 1975. On October 8, 1979, Margaret married Joseph “Joe” H. Leverty in Brooksville, FL. Joe had raised 7 children from his first marriage. They have lived in Burnett County, WI, for the past 22 years. Maggie was a very talented, hard-working, family oriented woman. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, knitting, quilting, and needle-point. She was also an avid reader. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Eva and Victor Johnson; an infant son, Thomas Mills; 5 brothers: Mike, Larry, Marv, Glenn, and Ken Johnson; 2 sisters: Ruby Wold and Evelyn Nielsen; and daughters-in-law, Leslie Mills and Emma Leverty. She is survived by her husband, Joe Leverty; children: Terry Mills, Timothy Mills, and Tammy (Paul) Johnson; step-children: Steve (Linda) Leverty, Bradley Leverty, Jackie (Butch) Greenhow, Mike (Shelli) Leverty, Teresa (Ron) Greenhow, Sean Leverty, and Paul Leverty. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 2 great, great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Viola Kirk and Joyce Schultz; as well as nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
