Luella Mae (Dumjohn) Smith, age 92, of Meenon Twp., Burnett Co., WI, passed away on March 2, 2016 at the Continuing Care Center at Burnett Medical Center in Grantsburg, WI. Luella was born in Webster, WI, on August 2, 1923, the youngest daughter of Gus and Bertha (Vogt) Dumjohn. She spent her younger days on the family farm on County Road A in Webster. She married Byron Dennis Smith on June 22, 1953 in Pine City, MN. Together they raised three children; Janna, Roger, and Jim. Most of her life was spent in the Webster area, except for some time in Montana, in Forest Center, MN and in Cozy Corners, WI, while Byron was logging. Luella was a full time mom and homemaker. She worked at the Stokley Vegetable Plant in Frederic a few years during the canning season. Luella loved having her kids, grandkids and later great-grandkids around her. She loved her search-a-word puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, visits from friends, having a good laugh, and drinking glass of good German wine at Thanksgiving. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Bertha and Gus Dumjohn; her husband, Byron, on Sep. 14, 1998; and her sisters and brothers: Clara, Mabel, Wilma, Alma, Freada, Frances, Walt, Earl, Donald and Harlo. She is survived by her children, Janna (Bill) Anderson, Roger (Brenda) Smith, Jim (Peggy) Smith; grandchildren: John (Brenda) Mulroy, Joe Mulroy, Brandon (Danielle) Smith, Nikki Smith (Ryan Suko), and Larissa Bartheidel; great-grandkids: Cybil, Allison, Morgan, Caleb, Aubrie, Brennan and Colton; and many relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 from 5:00-7:00pm at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Webster. The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 11:00am (visitation from 10:00-11:00am) at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Webster, with Pastor Brian Pardun officiating. Interment will be in Orange Lakeside Cemetery near Webster. Pallbearers are John Mulroy, Joe Mulroy, Brandon Smith, Ryan Suko, Larissa Bartheidel and Nikki Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Smith, Douglas Cullen, Butch Olson, and Donn Goodearle. Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster, WI.
