Louis "Buddy" Porter, 61, of Danbury, WI, formerly of Minneapolis, MN, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, January 18, 2018. Buddy was born February 26, 1956 in Minneapolis, MN to parents, Louis Andrew Porter, Sr and Doris Mae (LaChapelle) Porter. Buddy was a 1974 graduate of Edison High School in Northeast Minneapolis. Later in his life, Buddy attended North Hennepin Community College and received a degree in Building Inspection. He worked in construction management as a general contractor and project manager for many years. Buddy married Mary Jo Mulligan on March 8, 1999 in Minneapolis. They soon after moved and built their home in Danbury, WI. Buddy enjoyed fishing and hunting for many years and he was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. He loved to be around people and could be described as a character. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Buddy leaves to celebrate his memory, his wife, Mary Porter, Danbury, WI; children, Sherie Porter, Farmington, MN, Jason Porter (Janelle), Cambridge, MN and Shannon Porter, Alexandria, MN; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson; sisters, Dorene Weise (Mike), Chicago, IL, Diane Sandstrom, Coon Rapids, MN, Sandra Steeves (Mark); brother, William Porter (Joy), Minneapolis, MN. Buddy is preceded in death by his parents; sons, James Dean and Louis Porter III; brothers, Ronald and Bernard.
