Loren Lundeen

Loren L. Lundeen, age 59, passed away on September 25, 2021 at his home in Siren, WI. Loren was born on March 27, 1961 in Mpls., MN to Gale and Connie (Schneider) Lundeen. He was raised in Harris, MN and graduated from Rush City High School Class of 1980. He joined the US Navy and graduated from the Great Lakes Naval Station, specializing in communications as a Cryptologic Technician with special clearance and also served as an instructor during his naval career.

Loren served in many ports including Guam, Hawaii, London, San Diego, Pensacola and DC on many aircraft carriers and destroyers. To name a few, The USS Ranger, USS Tarawa, USS New Jersey, USS Duluth, USS Fitzgerald and USS Coral Sea. Retiring after serving 20 years in Waldorf, Maryland.

In 1986, he met and married the love of his life September Fruchy in Hawaii. While stationed in London, he and Tem welcomed Logan their first-born son to the family. Logan was joined in 1990 by Duncan while stationed in Pensacola. Loren and his family moved to San Diego and eventually Waldorf, Maryland, where he retired after completing a key project at the Office of Naval Intelligence in Suitland, Maryland.

After retiring from the Navy in 2000, he worked as a civilian in real estate and sales professions. Shortly after his father passed in 2005, he moved to Texas to live near his sister, and ultimately Wisconsin to be near his mother. While in Grantsburg, Loren enjoyed the seasons and nature, camping along the Saint Croix River, and hiking in the woods and parks. His favorite trail was along the Crex Meadows Wildlife Area in Grantsburg, Wisconsin during the fall.

Loren purchased a home in Siren and enjoyed a few years remodeling his home, and helped his mother take care of her home in Yellow Lake. Loren loved teaching and working on wood projects. Video talks with his granddaughter always brought a smile and brightened his day. Many stories and bragging rights were told to his family and friends when he spoke of “Biscuit” and her adventures.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gale Lundeen; grandparents, Elden and Viola Lundeen and Edward and Lorraine Schneider; along with many uncles, aunts and cousins.

He is survived by his sons, Logan (Natalie) and granddaughter, Aurelia, Florida and Duncan Lundeen, New Mexico; his mother, Connie Lundeen; brother, Larry; sister, Gaylynn (Stuart); nephew, Austin and niece, Madison McCarty; his ex-wife, September Lundeen; uncles, Edward (Roseann) Schneider, Wayne (Laurie) Lundeen and Charles Klein; aunts, Marilyn (Gary) Lucas, Darla Walters and Michelle Freyholtz; along with many cousins. Loren will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

Interment will take place at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, N4063 Veterans Way, Spooner, WI 54801 at 11:00 A.M., Friday June 3, 2022. A celebration of life will follow at Crooked Lake Park in Siren, WI from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M.
