Lois Steele

Lois Ann Steele, age 60, of New Richmond, WI , passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Regions Hospital in Saint Paul, MN. Lois was born on March 14, 1957 in Frederic, WI to parents, Kenneth Lea and Carol Jean (Louden) Cairns. She was a 1975 graduate of Webster High School and went on to receive her Masters Degrees in Forensic Psychology and AODA. Lois also obtained her certification as a Paralegal, CPA, and Real Estate Broker. She was a professional student with ambition and aspirations to get her Doctorate Degree. Lois was very successful in her employment. She worked as a bartender and cook for the Pheasant Inn and Yellow Lake Lodge, owner and operator of Lakeside Pub on Yellow Lake, owner and realtor for RE/MAX Image in Shell Lake, and partnered with RE/MAX Northwoods. In her spare time, Lois enjoyed crocheting, reading, listening to music, putting puzzles together and singing karaoke. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and loved to travel and spend time with family. Lois is survived by her husband, Doug Steele, New Richmond, WI; children, Shawn (Stephanie) Heier, DePere, WI, KaTrina Heier, Danbury, WI, Darcie Heier, Rice Lake, WI, Lilli Heier and Abbigale Heier, New Richmond, WI; grandchildren, Blake, Grace, Ivan, Aeva, Ashton, AdaLee, Autumn and one great grandson on the way; siblings, Sandy (Dana) Clark, Danbury, WI, Ken Cairns, Danbury, WI, Maria Cairns, Siren, WI; half-sister, Roxanne (James) Key, TX; step-father, Ed Peterson, Webster, WI; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Debra Cairns. A Memorial Service honoring the life of Lois Steele will be held on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM (visitation 10:00 - 11:00 AM) at Grace United Methodist Church in Webster, WI, with Pastor Eddie Crise officiating. Interment will follow at Orange Cemetery (Oakland Township, Burnett County). Arrangements have been entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster, WI.
