Lois Ball

Lois Anita Ball, age 85, a resident of Ramsey, MN, passed away on October 13, 2023 at Mercy Hospital with her loved ones by her side.

Lois was born on October 15, 1937 in Owatonna, MN to parents Leonard and Dorothy Hvitved. Lois graduated from West Concord High school in 1955. After high school Lois attended the U of M where she met Robert Ball and they eventually got married. They first lived in Minneapolis then moved to Anoka in 1968, where they lived for 18 years. While living in Anoka, they met the Kaufmann’s who lived 2 doors down on the same block, and the family's became fast friends. Lois worked for Allina as a medical transcriptionist for over 20 years retiring in the early 2000’s. After Roberts passing in 2009, she re-connected with Romane Kaufmann, whose wife had also passed. Lois and Romane got married in 2012.

Lois faithfully served her church for many years as a volunteer. Her hands were rarely still as she loved to knit and crochet. She always had cookies in the cookie jar for her family or company and she enjoyed staying active and watching sports.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Robert; parents, Leonard and Dorothy Hvitved; sisters, Nelva Hvitved, Kathleen Bachman, Lavonne Harris; and brothers, Delbert and Dwight Hvitved.

Lois is survived by her husband, Romane Kaufmann; brother, David (Barb) Hvitved; sons, Darin (Barb) Ball and Brian Ball; granddaughter, Megan (Ryan) Adams; great grandson’s, Austin and Drake Adams and many nephews and nieces. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

To honor Lois’s memory, we are holding a celebration of her life on Friday, October 20th 2023 at 11:00 AM (visitation from 9-11 am) at Meadow Creek Church in Andover, MN. We invite anyone who knew Lois to attend and remember her wonderful life.
