Leslie Gendron

Leslie Paul Gendron Sr., age 87, a resident of Pine City, MN passed away on August 30, 2022 at the Burnett Medical Center in Grantsburg, WI.

Leslie was born on July 12, 1935 in Brainerd, MN to parents Leslie and Virginia (Bahma) Gendron.

After graduating from high school Leslie attended St. Cloud State University and Brainerd Technical College where he received a degree in Mathematics and Accounting.

Leslie married the love of his life, Alice Bridges in Great Lakes, Illinois.

Leslie was a career Navy man, he was deployed on many tours to the Mediterranean and 1 year in Vietnam, where he served his country valiantly. He served many years on the Brainerd Color Guard. He loved our god faithfully and served his country wholehearted.

Leslie was a social butterfly and helpful to everyone he met. His passions were playing cards, bingo and the casino, along with visiting with family and friends.

Leslie was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Alice; son, Robert; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Engelhardt, grandchildren, Luke Heltemes and Anna Anderson; siblings, Phyllis (Marce) Welzant, Maxine (Bob) Marohn, Beverly (Vernon) Leibold, Gene Gendon, Charles (Marilyn) Gendron, Virginia (Ken) Wasnie, Mary Jo Gendron, Tom Austin and Emmett Mather.

He will be greatly missed by his children, Theresa Bartel, Leslie P. Gendron Jr., Mark (Amy) Gendron, Roxanne (Dan) Foster, Lisa (Dan) Anderson, Denise (Randy) Manlick, Cindy (Jeff) Heltemes and Renee Olson; his siblings, Janice Mather, Lavonne (Tom) Paulson, Joni Gendron and Alta Gendron.

A memorial mass will be held on Monday, September 12, 2022 at 11:00 AM (visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 AM) at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd, MN. A luncheon will follow the service at the church.
