Lemoine Nelson

LeMoine Gerald Nelson, age 62, of the Grantsburg WI area, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 21, 2015. LeMoine was born in Saint Paul, MN, on May 20, 1953. After attending public schools in Saint Paul, he enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age 16. He entered active service on September 30, 1970 and was honorable discharged on December 6, 1976. His duty stations included foreign assignment in South Korea. LeMoine returned to Saint Paul after his active service and attended technical college in South Saint Paul. He has resided in the Grantsburg area since 1993. On May 25, 1996, LeMoine was united in marriage to Samantha Jean Blomberg at Faith Lutheran Church, Grantsburg. Together, they owned and operated Lock and Load Meat Processing. He also was the lead singer/guitar player and played numerous instruments in the bands Whiskey Water and Lock & Load. LeMoine was multi-talented in many areas besides music, which was his passion. His great carpentry and masonry skills allowed LeMoine and Samantha to build their own home and garage together. He also had the knowledge and ability to repair and rebuild engines. LeMoine loved going fishing and ice fishing, cutting meat, music, technology, and also enjoyed riding horses. Most of all LeMoine and Samantha were a unit. LeMoine and Samantha were passionate and a force to be reckoned with. Nothing could stop them because of the love and same dreams that they both had and shared. Surviving are his wife, Samantha; three sons: LeRoy LeMoine (Kammi) Nelson, Bradley Gerald (Rebecca) Nelson, and Joseph Andrew Nelson; nine grandchildren: Oliver and Wyatt; and Nicholas, Katlin, Tanner, Isabelle, Chelsea, Zack and Alex; as well as other relatives. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy M. (Wasielewski) Nelson. In keeping with LeMoine’s wishes, there will not be any formal services.
