Laverne “Bud” Harold Gipford, age 89, of Webster, WI, passed away on January 11, 2020, at the Burnett Medical Center in Grantsburg, WI.
Bud was born on December 24, 1930, in Pierce County, WI, to parents, Florence (Borchert) and Harold Gipford. He attended and graduated from Ellsworth High School. Bud served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1953.
On January 26, 1952, Bud was united in marriage to Shirley Kruse.
Bud was employed by the Ellsworth Bottle Company for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, berry picking and feeding the birds. Bud and Shirley were avid gardeners, both flowers and vegetables. He also liked bowling, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
Preceding Bud in death is his beloved wife of 61 years, Shirley; parents, Florence and Harold Gipford; sisters, Dorothy Cudd and Bette Jablonske; and brothers-in-law, Johnny Cudd and Donald Denzer.
Bud is survived by his sister, Doris Denzer; brother, Harold (Janice) Gipford Jr.; brother-in-law, Dick Jablonske; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at 1:00pm at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.
