Larry Hackett

Larry Eugene Hackett, age 73, a resident of Frederic, WI passed away on October 30, 2022 at Burnett Medical Center in Grantsburg.

Larry was born on February 22, 1949 in Frederic, WI to parents Loren and Helen (Sauerbrey) Hackett.

After graduating from high school, Larry was drafted into the United States Army until he was discharged in 1975.

Larry married the love of his life, Peggy McCann on June 22, 1968 at the Methodist Church in Grantsburg, WI.

Larry worked for Parker Hannifin for over 24 years as a machinist. He was an active member of the VFW in Lewis, Ducks Unlimited and Squirrels Unlimited.

In Larry’s free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and farming.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents.

He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 54 years, Peggy; children, Troy (Cheryl) Hackett, Chad (Jennifer) Hackett, Jason (Tammy) Hackett; grandchildren, Kyle, Ellen, Roger, Savannah, Chloe, Macey, Wyatt, Morgan and Taylor; great grandchildren, Emma, Emmett, Boyd, Everett, Aubrey, and Westynn; brothers, Jerry Hackett, Kenny (Kris) Hackett and Scott Hackett; sisters, Leota (Mike) Olson and Karen Lieder; family friend, Angela Stein and children Landon, Lydia, and Wesley; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; along with other relatives and friends.

Visitation will take place on Friday, November 11, 2022 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Grantsburg, WI.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 11:00 AM (visitation from 10:00 - 11:00 AM) at Grace Lutheran Church in Frederic, WI. with Pastor John Petersen officiating. Military honors will take place following the service.
