Larry Wayne Colvin, age 71, of Webb Lake, WI passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Spooner Health System Hospital in Spooner, WI surrounded by his family. Larry was born on August 10, 1941 in Peoria, IL., the son of Nyle and Pearl (Janssen) Colvin. Larry married Mary Ellen Cranford on December 10, 1961 at the Peoria Heights Congregational Church. Larry graduated from Woodruff High School in 1959 and worked for International Paper Company for over 35 years. He also worked for the City of Lacon before retiring to Wisconsin. He was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinal baseball team and the Chicago Bear football team. He enjoyed playing softball, golf, pitching horseshoes, going hunting and fishing. His most cherished times were spent with his grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Nyle. Larry is survived and will be sadly missed by his wife Mary; their sons Brett (Tameco) Colvin of Lacon, IL, Tony (Lisa) Colvin of Lacon, IL, and Lance (Jenelle) Colvin in Varna, IL; his six grandchildren Brittany (Korey) Williamson, Sydney, Sierra, Abby, Wyatt and Isabelle Colvin; great grandchild Willow Pearl Williamson; his mother Pearl at age 92. Also survived by his brothers Richard (Janet) Colvin of Kickapoo, IL and Terry (Diane) Colvin of O’Fallon, IL; sister Patricia (Russell) Mulvaney of Columbia, IN; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A memorial service/gathering will be held Saturday, June 9, 2012 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon, IL with a committal to follow at Old Salem Cemetery, R.R. Lacon, IL. Memorials are preferred to Spooner Regional Hospice 819 Ash St., Spooner, WI 54801 or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or St. Jude Midwest Affiliate c/o Tony Colvin 1340 County Road 900N Lacon, IL 61540.
