Kenneth Hopkins

Kenneth G. Hopkins, age 73, of Siren, WI, died Monday, April 5th, 2021 from a car accident in Meenon township on Easter Sunday.

Ken was born in Frederic, WI on April 19, 1947. He attended the Orange School House and went to Webster Grade School and High School. After graduation Ken went into the United States Army, where he served for 2 years, one in Viet Nam. When Ken returned, he worked for his father, Rod Hopkins at Hopkins Sand and Gravel.

Ken married the love of his life, Lindi Anderson on April 12, 1969. They moved to the cities where their first son, Brandon was born. Ken and his family moved back and ran the Pure Oil business for several years and then had their second son, Reid. They built a house in Webster and a few years later they started Hopkins Logging, which he ran for many years.

For family fun, Ken started his sons in moto-cross when they were 8 and 11 years old. Both boys excelled and for the next 6 years, they tackled the sport of moto-cross by winning the State Championships and the Loretta Lynn National.

Ken enjoyed golfing and pontoon rides. He was athletic and like participating in foot races and other Dog Town Diggers events. Ed Greinke and ken built a stock car and raced all the local tracks for a year. He also participated in a 3-day, 500-mile snowmobile race in Canada. Ken and Lindi also loved to go on road trips. They spent 28 days touring the National Parks out west, toured the east coast, southern coasts from Georgia to Texas and were planning a northeastern road trip this fall.

Ken was preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia Hopkins; grandparents Elsie and Charles Sharp, Dora and Charles Hopkins.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lindi Hopkins; sons, Brandon and Reid Hopkins; father Rod (Millie) Hopkins Sr.; brother Rod (Judy) Hopkins Jr.; Sister, Sherry (Charlie) Hopkins Cadotte; grandchildren, Brittaini (Nick) Spafford, Alex Hopkins, Cabrina Hopkins, Adam Hopkins; great grandchildren, Landyn, Brantley, and Aubree Spafford.

A celebration of life will be held later this summer once his wife Lindi has fully recovered. More information will follow once the date has been set.
