Keith B. Highstrom, age 51, of Siren, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday afternoon, October 5, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was born in St. Croix Falls, WI, on September 1, 1963, a son of Merle B. “Butch” and Karla M. (Kulbeck) Highstrom. He attended public schools in Siren and was a 1981 graduate of Siren High School. On July 28, 1995, Keith married Jacquelyn Myrene “Jackie” Schultz at Meenon Park (Charles Tollander Park). He and Jackie owned and operated West Sweden Skol Haus Restaurant & Bar. He previously had been a painting contractor in Siren under the name “Nu-N-Redo.” Keith was a very sociable, amiable person, who loved conversing with others. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, and fantasy football. Keith is survived by his wife, Jackie; his mother, Karla Highstrom; a son; Jason Hagert; a brother, Craig (Rhonda) Highstrom; a sister, Shonnah (Tim) McIntyre; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Chuck (Robin) Schultz, Roxanne Chasensky, Robbin Larson, Pauline Schultz, Jodi (Randy) Thomas, and Kent Zellmer; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death his father, Merle “Butch” Highstrom; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leroy and Virginia Schultz; brother-in-law, Craig Schultz; and sister-in-law, Kelly Zellmer. Memorial visitation honoring the life of Keith Highstrom will be held from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Sunday, October 12, 2014, at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Siren, WI.
