Kathy Barrett-Stoylen

Kathleen Mary Barrett-Stoylen , born on September 17, 1951, to Robert Eugene Barrett and Thelma Cecelia (Backen) Barrett in Minneapolis, MN. She graduated from Mounds View High School in 1969. She received her B.A. Degree in 1974 from the University of Minnesota, where she met her future husband, David Bernt Stoylen.
They moved to their LaFollette township home in October 1975, jokingly referred to as the estate. In 1982, she and David started their photography business, which continued until 2004, when she was forced to retired because of ill health.
She was tougher than any of her family realized, surviving Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, after a three-year battle, from 1989 – 1992. She also survived colon cancer, in 2012. She had been diagnosed with esophageal cancer, when God took her home on August 8 th , 2019.
She is survived by her husband, David; her brother and sister-in-law, David and Jule; she is also survived by nephews, Robert and David; great-nephews, Adam and Raymond.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Diane.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 11:00am (visitation 10-11am) at Lakeview United Methodist Church in Hertel.
