Kathryn Gajewski

Kathryn "Kathi" Helen Gajewski, age 71, of Grantsburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at her residence. Kathi was born on September 19, 1945 in Sparta, WI to parents, Eleanor (Schroeder) and Gerald Brooks. She graduated from Sparta High School in 1963. On May 21, 1966, Kathi married Ronald "Ron" Gajewski at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sparta. Kathi was employed as an Optician for Dr. Mengs Eye Clinic in Rice Lake for 17 years. After retirement, Kathi and Ron moved to the Grantsburg area in 1999. Kathi enjoyed shopping, decorating, antique shopping and watching her favorite television shows, Fixer Upper and Days of our Lives. She was also a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church in Grantsburg. Preceding Kathi in death are her parents; and sister, Geraldine McCormick. Kathi is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Ron Gajewski; daughters, Jen (Neeraj Mainkar) and Carrie Gajewski; brother, James (Dora) Brooks; sisters-in-law, Lois Ferrera and Carol Warnock; and many nieces, nephews and friends. The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 11:00am (visitation from 10-11:00am) at Faith Lutheran Church in Grantsburg with Pastor Sandy Hutchens officiating.
