Karen Anderson

July 24, 1938 — March 2, 2015

Karen Anderson, age 76 passed away on March 2, 2015 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She courageously fought a year-long battle with heart cancer. Karen the daughter of Earl and Isabelle Berglund was born July 24, 1938 in Frederic, Wisconsin. She leaves to mourn her husband Orlin Anderson of Webster, WI; sisters, Donna (Dale) Erickson of Frederic, WI, Bonnie (Bryce) Olson of Milwaukee, WI; sons Bruce (Chrissy) Gibbs of Webster, WI, Kevin (Ritsue) Gibbs of Eau Claire, WI; daughters, Robyn Kreuer of Scottsdale, AZ, Brenda (Abe) Schmidt of St. Croix Falls, WI, Denise (Ted) East of Ladysmith, WI, grand children and several relatives and friends. She was baptized by Rev. Wm. T. Horn on September 9, 1951 and attended the Trade Lake Baptist Church. She graduated from Frederic High School in 1956 and attended WITC at Rice Lake. Karen spent 25 years working for Burnett County in addition to working part-time as a travel agent for Sun Travel in Webster. She was an active member for many years in the Webster Baptist Church. Karen and Orlin enjoyed traveling and spending time in their home on the Yellow River. Karen and Orlin spent their last ten winters at the Bibleville Conference Center in Alamo, TX. Karen had a love for music which included singing in the choir, playing piano, auto harp, psaltery, and mandolin. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends. Playing board games, and spending time in her beautiful flower garden. Visitation will be held at the Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Webster, Wisconsin on Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 4-7PM. Funeral will be Friday, March 6, 2015 at 11AM (visitation from 10-11AM) at the First Baptist Church, Webster, Wisconsin with Pastor Mark Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery. Music provided by Pastor Mark Anderson and son Joel Anderson. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Regional Hospice Spooner or the Rio Grande Bible Institute are appreciated. Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster, Wisconsin.
