Judith (Judy) Johnson, 76, of Siren WI passed away August 4, 2015 from Ovarian Cancer. She was born on May 29, 1939 to Earl and Marjorie Nyberg in Cumberland, WI. Judy graduated from Siren High School in 1957 and attended UW LaCrosse for a year and a half before moving to the Twin cities to work before returning to Siren. She worked at various occupations in Siren until accepting a position at First Bank of Grantsburg, now US Bank, and worked her way up to branch manager. She retired in 2004 after over 34 years of service. She was also the treasure for the Town of Siren for 55 years. In recent years, she had worked part-time at Best western Northwood's Lodge and was currently employed by Inter-County Cooperative Publishing Association in Siren office. Judy was very active in the Siren community being involved in many organizations such as Siren Lioness' Club, Siren Senior Center, serving on the board at DSI, serving on the advisory board for ADRC, March of Dimes, Salvation Army, Selective Service, member of Siren Covenant Church and was a key contact for the Siren tornado relief efforts. She also served as conservator ad guardian for numerous residents in town., she enjoyed serving and helping people in the community. Judy married Wayne K. Johnson on May 9,1959 at Siren United Methodist Church. Judy loved animals, from her raccoons when she was young to the many dogs and other animals through the years, and most recently always having an "Angel" at her side. She loved spending time with family and friends, attending the grandkids functions along with gardening, fishing and cooking. Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Marjorie Nyberg and infant sister, Pamela. Judy is survived by her husband, Wayne K. Johnson of Siren; son, Todd (Cheryl) Johnson of Streamwood, IL; daughter, Kimberly (Glen) Talmadge of Frederic; grandchildren, David, Cara and Jeremy Johnson of Streamwood, IL, Matthew (Jenna) Talmadge of Austin, MN and Jacob Talmadge of Eden Prairie, MN; sister-in-law, Jean (Robert) Whitwam of Eau Claire, WI; niece, Lynn (Jon) Blomstrand of Amery; nephews, Randy and Scott Hover; along with many close cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held at 3 pm (visitation 2-3 pm) on Friday, August 7, 2015 at Siren Covenant Church with Pastor Steve Ward officiating.
